Place Where You Live:

Daphne, Alabama

To the Jubilee City, the city of bay breeze and big trees, thank you. Thank you for helping me through the rough times of my life. You were there for me like no other. During sad days I would waste time on your beach or your forest and watch the animals go by their day to day lives. While it seemed like no one noticed me on the park benches, you did. The breeze would move through the big oak and pine trees, brushing gently through my hair, comforting me. During your stormy days, it seemed like time came to a halt and one could see the harshness of mother nature. During your sunny days, it seemed like time grew still and one could see the humanity of mother nature. All the while, I would sit on that park bench and my happiness would soar seeing nature forever do its job, to water the earth and sun the earth. It was on that park bench I decided to become an environmental scientist, to protect the ways of nature that always helped me. You helped me realized that I wanted to save the world.

So, thank you. Thank you for letting me see the bright side of things- during every stormy day and every sunny day. Thank you for putting a smile on my face every time a dragonfly would land on me. Thank you for all of the beautiful sunrises and sunsets- the only way that each day should begin and end. While we are all just specks of dust flinging into space on a rock, you made me feel like the universe. You made me feel like I mattered. I just somehow feel connected to you. It does not matter if I mean the same to you as you do to me. Just know that I am off to save other towns and cities that helped people. You put a light in my heart that you can not take back. So, thank you, Daphne, for making me into the person I am now.
